Implant + GBR with membrane

The patient, B.S., a 58-year-old man, presented with a single edentulous space at tooth number 19 (3.6)* following a previous extraction. The site exhibited combined bone atrophy. The patient’s wish was to restore the missing tooth without involving the adjacent teeth.

Due to the presence of bone atrophy, the treatment plan called for the placement of an implant in site no. 19 (3,6) and a simultaneous guided bone regeneration (GBR) procedure. This was performed using a cortical bone strip and an allogeneic granular graft to regenerate bone tissue in the cervical region of the implant. During the second-stage (revelation) surgery, a 3D collagen matrix was grafted to improve the width and thickness of the peri-implant soft tissues.
